The important role of geotechnical materials in the field of ecological environment

At present, my country is implementing the incineration of domestic waste, and the landfill of primary waste will gradually decrease. But every city needs at least one landfill for emergency landfill and incineration ash landfill. On the other hand, there are currently a lot of solid waste landfills that have been filled and need to be closed. Therefore, in the future, geosynthetics will have great market prospects in the closure coverage of solid waste landfills and the temporary coverage of in-service landfills.
Polyethylene geomembrane-2
The so-called closure cover means that when the solid waste landfill is filled, an integral covering structure needs to be built on its surface to prevent rainwater infiltration and landfill gas overflow, and vegetation can be planted for greening and restoration. There are three main types of geosynthetic materials used in the field cover: low density polyethylene (LDPE) geomembrane, bentonite waterproof blanket and composite drainage net. Among them, LDPE geomembrane has good ductility, is not easy to be torn, and can play a good role in anti-seepage and air-sealing. The anti-seepage barrier properties of bentonite waterproof blanket are also very good. Compared with geomembrane, it will not completely cut off the water vapor under the covering layer, which is more conducive to the growth of vegetation.
Composite Drainage Board-2
Temporary coverage of in-service solid waste landfills is to cover exposed garbage surfaces with geosynthetics in areas that are not temporarily landfilled to reduce rainwater infiltration and landfill gas overflow. Temporary cover is also commonly used in pollution site treatment projects to prevent volatile harmful gases from escaping into the atmosphere. In the early days, tarpaulins, films, etc. were generally used for temporary coverage, but problems such as poor anti-seepage and air-sealing effect and easy tearing of welds were prone to occur. At present, landfills have higher and higher requirements for closed landfills. Some landfills use 1mm thick HDPE geomembrane for temporary coverage. The effect of sealing down is better.
